About the Course

The test involves dropping a certain weight of mass from a certain height to generate a falling force equal to 13 joules( varies according to the thickness of the sheet) onto a painted steel sheet. The associated energy transfer could result in undesirable surface defects such as cracks, spalling and outright loosening of the paint film detectable through visual inspection, and by applying clear adhesive tape over the failed spots to check for paint film migration which indicates failure.
